Mahindra Last Mile Mobility achieves Unicorn Status; valued at ₹10,822 crore after ₹322 crore Lightrock-led fundraise
MLMML executed a binding agreement to raise ₹322 crore in equity, with Lightrock Cayman Holdings as the new lead investor and existing investors IFC and IJF exercising pre-emptive rights to maintain stakes. The transaction, completed on 30 July 2026, values the company at ₹10,822 crore (approximately USD 1.24 billion), making it a unicorn. Post-transaction, parent Mahindra & Mahindra's stake reduced from 78.11% to 75.79%, retaining operational control. MLMML achieved 100,000 EV sales in FY26 and 85% YoY volume growth in Q1 FY27, commanding 40% market share in the L5 electric three-wheeler category.
Why it mattersGrowth-stage equity round by impact investors in a sustainability-focused last-mile EV business validates the commercial viability of electric commercial vehicles and corporate carve-out structuring as an independent capital-raising vehicle ahead of planned 2027 IPO.
