Khaitan advises HCL Group company on semiconductor JV with Foxconn
Vama Sundari Investments (Delhi), an HCL Group investment company, formed a joint venture with Foxconn Hon Hai Technology India Mega Development to establish and operate an outsourced semiconductor assembly and test (OSAT) factory in India - the JV is named India Chip Private Limited. The ₹3,706 crore plant, approved under the India Semiconductor Mission, will sit in the YEIDA region near Jewar, Uttar Pradesh, producing ~20,000 wafers/month of display-driver chips; Foxconn holds ~40%. Khaitan & Co advised Vama Sundari on the JV and technology-licence agreements, with IP and competition-law support.
